King Calls for Implementing the Educational Development Project

His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed the importance of giving priority to implementing the project "Educational Development Towards Knowledge Economy" which focuses on the achievement of equal opportunities in quality and quantity education for school students, and providing them with the opportunity to deal with communications and information technology.

His Majesty stressed, during a meeting he chaired in the presence of the prime minister and the ministers of Royal Court, education and planning, the importance of providing the necessary fund to implement this project which constitutes a qualitative leap in the level of education in the Kingdom.

The King also expressed support for the strategy that has been put by the education ministry to implement the project which is in line with recommendations of the Economic Consultative Council.

His Majesty praised the project which focuses on rehabilitating teachers and educational supervisors and provide them with the necessary skills, noting the importance of linking education in the Kingdom with the Knowledge economy which provides job opportunities for the graduates.

Minister of Education Dr. Khaled Touqan for his part presented a briefing on the education development program which his ministry started 18 months ago, and which is expected to be completed within five months.
