During a telephone call on Monday His Majesty King Abdullah II was informed by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat on the latest developments in the Palestinian areas as Palestinian presidential complex is still under Israeli military siege.

King Abdullah, who is currently on a three-day visit to Bahrain, was also assured about the conditions of the besieged Palestinian President and voiced hope that the ongoing contacts by Jordan and other Arab and foreign countries would help stop Israel's military escalation and put an end to the current crisis.

The King stressed the need to return to the table of negotiations as the only means to end the whirl of violence.
