Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with President of the European Parliament Pat Cox at headquarter of the European Parliament in Strasburg. Talks during the meeting covered scopes of cooperation between Jordan and the European Parliament and ways of promoting them.

Discussions also covered the situation in the Palestinian lands. His Majesty affirmed that Arabs are ready to make peace, indicating that this was clear in the Arab initiative that was adopted during the Arab summit in Beirut.

He pointed out that the international community is aware of the requirements of peace at this stage. "This needs concerted efforts with a view achieve the aspired for peace that guarantees the establishment of a viable Palestinian state," His Majesty added.

The meeting was attended by Chief of the Royal Court as well as the foreign and planning ministers.
