Letter to students on the occasion of the new scholastic year, 2009-2010
In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Compassionate,
My dear sons and daughters,
Peace, God's mercy and blessings be upon you,
As you head to your classrooms today, it is my pleasure to send greetings to each and every one of you across Jordan, and to express my pride in you. For, you are the hope of the country and the builders of its bright future.
I want to assure you that, as you strive for achievement in your educational endeavours, we are striving to arm you with knowledge and the means to help you excel and create. The development of an educational system capable of helping you confront the challenges of the era and opening new horizons to you is the objective of all our efforts. And this will remain at the forefront of our priorities: through our educational plans and policies, we will continue to improve the curriculum and expand the use of information technology and create an educational environment that makes our schools exceptional centres of learning where the creativity of students is unleashed.
As for teachers, they will always enjoy our support and attention because they are the foundation of success in the educational process. They have a key role in strengthening patriotism, good citizenship and the values of freedom, justice, tolerance, sacrifice, dignity and chivalry that we have inherited. Above all, teachers deserve our appreciation and respect for their dedication to their noble mission.
I would like to reiterate my pride in all of you, your teachers and the entire educational family. I stress my full confidence that you will be the makers of a prosperous future. I pray to God Almighty that your efforts will always be successful and that He will make true your wishes that serve the interest of Jordan and its people.
Peace, God's mercy and blessings be upon you.
