King receives Sudanese Vice President

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday reiterated his support to peace efforts in Sudan.

During a meeting with Sudan's Vice President Ali Othman Mohammad Taha, King Abdullah stressed the strong ties between the two countries and the Jordanian and the Sudanese people, emphasizing the need to bolster these relations in all spheres.

King Abdullah highlighted the need to examine the possibility of launching a maritime transport line between the two countries to increase the joint commercial exchange volume.

The Sudanese official conveyed greetings to King Abdullah from Sudanese President Omar Bashir, expressing his thanks to the Jordanian efforts in support of Sudan.

Sudan's vice president stressed his country's desire to bolster Jordanian-Sudanese investments, underlining Sudan's keenness to increase the volume of Jordanian exports to the African country.

Taha also expressed his appreciation for the King's support to the meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Sudanese Higher Committee which concluded on Thursday with the signing of 18 memoranda of understanding and cooperation executive programmes.
