His Majesty King Abdullah stressed Jordan's keenness to support efforts to enhance stability in Sudan and preserve the country's territorial integrity.

During a meeting with Sudanese Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Hussein and his accompanying delegation, Hussein conveyed a letter from Sudanese President Omar Hassan Bashir to King Abdullah on Sudan's position on UN Resolution 1706 on Darfur. The Sudanese official said the Security Council's resolution threatens security and stability in the country, and described it as "unfair".

He also expressed his country's commitment to implementing the Abuja Agreement so as to achieve peace in the region. He also acknowledged King Abdullah's supportive stands towards Arab issues, noting Jordan's concern to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.
