King receives phone call from New Zealand PM

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a phone call from New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to discuss bilateral ties, as well as means to expand cooperation in various fields.

During the phone call, King Abdullah and Prime Minister Ardern expressed their keenness to maintain coordination between the two countries to counter the threats of terrorism, extremism and hate speech, and to work together to promote the values of coexistence and interfaith harmony.

Prime Minister Ardern commended His Majesty’s efforts to achieve peace and promote interfaith harmony and dialogue in the region and around the world.

The King praised Prime Minister Ardern’s leadership during the aftermath of the terrorist attack on the mosques in Christchurch in March, commending the exemplary model displayed by the people of New Zealand in their compassion and solidarity in rejecting extremism and hatred, and embracing values of peace and tolerance instead.
