King receives congratulatory cables on naming Crown Prince

His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday received separate letters from Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal and Prince Ali, congratulating him over naming His Royal Highness Prince Hussein as Crown Prince.

Prince Feisal said the decision was a reflection of His Majesty's “wisdom”, adding it was “the right decision for our Jordanian family and Hashemite family.”

He praised the Crown Prince as a young man who is “keen on Jordan, the Jordanian family, humanity in general and Islam.”

In his letter, Prince Ali said he received the news with relief and joy “not only as a brother and an uncle”, but also in light of years working by the side of the King, “watching your son acquiring the attributes that enable him to shoulder the responsibilities of the Crown Prince.”

Also Saturday, King Abdullah received a telephone call from King Hamad Ben Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, expressing his congratulations over naming Prince Hussein as Crown Prince.

On the occasion, King Abdullah also received congratulatory phone calls from Saudi Crown Prince Sultan Ben Abdul Aziz and Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman Ben Hamad Al Khalifa.

The King received similar telephone calls from Saudi Prince Abdul Aziz Ben Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Prince Fahd Ben Sultan Ben Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Sheikh Mohammad Al Khalid Al Sabah.

On Friday, HRH Prince Ghazi, the King's special adviser and personal envoy, sent congratulatory cables to the King and Prince Hussein.

Among those who sent similar cables are Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, Senate President Zeid Rifai, Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali, Head of the Judicial Council Ismail Omari and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Khaled Sarayreh.

Public Security Department Director Major General Mazen Qadi, Gendarmerie Department Director General Major General Tawfiq Halalmeh, General Intelligence Department Director Major General Mohammad Rathaan Raqqad and Civil Defence Department Director General Major General Abdullah Hamadneh also sent congratulatory cables.
