His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received congratulatory cables from Arab and Muslim leaders on the occasion of the Hijri New Year.

King Abdullah also received similar cables from the prime minister, acting Senate president, acting speaker of the Lower House, president of the Judicial Council, Chief Islamic Justice, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, directors of Public Security, General Intelligence, Civil Defence, and Gendarmerie departments and director of the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans and a number of public and economic figures.

The cables wished King Abdullah continued good health and happiness and the people of Jordan further progress and prosperity.
