King opens Jordan’s pavilion at the 2015 China-Arab States Expo

His Majesty King Abdullah, who is currently on a working visit to China, attended the opening of the 2015 China-Arab States Expo in the city of Yinchuan in Ningxia province, in which Jordan is participating as a guest of honour.

King Abdullah, accompanied by the Governor of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Liu Hui, opened the Jordanian pavilion that provides an opportunity for major Chinese companies to look into investment, economic and trade projects in the Kingdom and cooperate with their Jordanian counterparts.

The King toured the pavilion, which is held by Jordan Investment Commission, in cooperation with concerned public and private departments, and looked into sections that cover various sectors including energy and information technology.

His Majesty was also briefed about the role of Jordanian public and private sector economic and investment institutions, in promoting Jordanian products as well as expertise in world markets, mainly the Chinese, and encouraging Chinese companies and businessmen to invest in the Kingdom.

Companies taking part in the Jordanian pavilion represent the sectors of tourism, information and communications technology, health, pharmaceutical industries, agricultural and food production, transport, mining, renewable energy as well as the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

President of the Jordan Investment Commission Muntasir Uqleh make remarks in which he said that the expo provides an opportunity to boost trade, investment and economic ties between Arab countries and China.

He said the King’s opening of the Jordanian pavilion reflects his keen interest to develop the national economy.

His Majesty also visited the pavilion of products, commodities and services that is organised by Jordanian public and private sectors institutions and companies to showcase and promote their products.

The King voiced appreciation for efforts exerted by these institutions and companies to represent Jordan and highlight opportunities offered by the Jordanian economy.

His Majesty also urged them to capitalise on the results of the expo and the successes that have been achieved by Jordan and to forge partnerships with their Chinese counterparts.
