King meets US House Foreign Affairs Committee

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday met with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Senator John Kerry (D-MA.), and attended by Minority Leader Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN.). Discussions covered means to realise regional peace and resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

King Abdullah also met with several Senate leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). They discussed means to bolster bilateral cooperation.

At Thursday's meetings, King Abdullah emphasised that the two-state solution is the best way to resolve the problems and challenges facing the Middle East.

The King also voiced his appreciation for the Senate's support in developing Jordanian-American ties.

The meetings were attended by Prince Feisal Bin Hussein, Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, the King's Advisor Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair Al-Ali and Jordan's ambassador to Washington Prince Zeid bin Raad.
