King meets American businessmen

His Majesty King Abdullah and leading American businessmen on Tuesday examined possibilities for expanding US investment projects in the country in cooperation with the private sector.

During a meeting with a group of top executives from leading US companies, King Abdullah expressed his support for their plans to increase their investments in Jordan, emphasising incentives and streamlined procedures offered to the private sector.

The King also emphasised investment advantages available to US businessmen, in particular, those within the Jordan-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

During the meeting, attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Jafar Hassan and King's Adviser Amer Hadidi, King Abdullah stressed Jordan's efforts to achieve reform in the various sectors to ensure that political reform goes hand-in-hand with economic reform.

Highlighting the Kingdom's favourable investment climate, King Abdullah emphasised the potential and skills of Jordanian workers.

The US businessmen commended the country's security and stability, the Kingdom's policies and investment incentives set up and expand investments in Jordan in several fields, including renewable energy. They also emphasised the Kingdom's tourist attractions.
