His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday issued directives for the speedy implementation of agricultural projects to revive the sector, increase its exports and improve the living conditions of farmers.
During a meeting with agricultural sector representatives, King Abdullah said it was important to accelerate the implementation of pioneering agricultural projects planned for Deir Alla, Ajloun, Ghor Al Safi, Wadi Araba and Al Hassa in Tafileh.
The King told the gathering that he wants the implementation of these schemes to be accelerated so that farmers feel the impact of the projects and benefit, and he wants an expansion and the increase of these projects.
Chairman of the Board of the Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables Basil Al Deek said the King gave instructions to formulate a strategy to address the challenges facing the sector during a meeting in late January, noting that several meetings followed to discuss the issue.
