His Majesty King Abdullah and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al Thani on Wednesday stressed the importance of increasing Arab coordination to arrive at a clear stand on regional issues that serves Arab interests.
King Abdullah visited Doha on Wednesday for talks with Sheikh Hamad on the latest regional developments and means to strengthen bilateral relation.
During the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein and Qatar’s Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al Thani, both leaders stressed their commitment to developing cooperation between Amman and Doha in all sectors in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two nations and their people.
King Abdullah and Sheikh Hamad also reviewed regional developments, especially the situation in several Arab countries, and asserted their commitment to pursue consultation and coordination to ensure regional stability and security.
His Royal Highness Prince Ali, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. General Mashal Al Zaben and Jordan’s Ambassador to Qatar Ahmad Mefleh attended the meeting along with several Qatari officials.
Sheikh Hamad hosted an iftar banquet in honour of King Abdullah, who returned to Jordan later the same evening, and his accompanying delegation. The iftar was also attended by senior Qatari officials.
