His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Tuesday congratulated members of the Civil Defence Department (CDD) for receiving the Heavy Classification of the UN International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG).

In a letter sent to CDD Director Lt. Gen. Talal Kofahi, King Abdullah voiced appreciation for the department's distinguished efforts and dedication.

Established in 1991, INSARAG seeks to facilitate coordination between rescue and search teams who make themselves available for deployment to countries experiencing devastating events of structural collapse, according to its website.
