King, Bahraini monarch discuss bilateral, regional issues

His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday discussed with Bahraini King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region.
At the meeting in Manama, both leaders stressed the importance of sustaining consultation and coordination over bilateral and regional issues, in a way that benefits the interests of both countries and peoples that would enhance joint Arab action.
They also expressed pride in the “advanced level” of bilateral relations, voicing keenness to further develop them at all levels.
King Abdullah congratulated King Hamad on the occasions of Bahrain’s national day and the 15th anniversary of his accession to the throne.
The two Kings discussed the latest regional developments, especially the efforts exerted to fight terrorism and extremism to “safeguard the peace and stability of the region and its peoples”.
Both leaders reviewed the outcome of the recent Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit hosted by Doha as well as the outcome of His Majesty’s visit to Washington.
King Hamad lauded the distinguished Jordanian-Bahraini ties as well as Jordan’s continued support for the interests of Arab countries in various international arenas.
He also praised the level of ties between Jordan and GCC countries.
His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein and Bahraini Crown Prince Salman Al Khalifa attended the meeting, along with Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, His Majesty’s Office Director Jafar Hassan and senior officials and diplomats from both countries.
