His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday said Jordan supports efforts to ensure the success of an international donor conference for Lebanon.
The King told Lebanese Premier Fuad Siniora at a meeting that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ziad Fariz will take part in the January 25 Paris III conference, to bring together international donors to raise rebuilding funds for Lebanon and help its economy recover following the Israeli war on the country in summer.
Siniora was in Jordan on the last leg of a regional tour to rally Arab support for the conference.
Jordan backs and supports efforts under way for the success of the Paris III conference, King Abdullah said.
Jordan fully supports Lebanon and places all its capabilities at its service to back efforts aimed at achieving reconciliation.
During the war on Lebanon, Jordan set up a field hospital in Beirut and helped reopen the capital's international airports, which was bombarded by Israel.
Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, who attended the meeting, told reporters that Jordan will sustain its support for Lebanon, reiterating that dialogue was the only way to end the Arab country's political impasse.
