Amman, 24 December 2003

His Majesty King Abdullah II expressed pride in the Jordanian-Bahraini ties, as well as the level of cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting at Beit Al Baraka on Wednesday, with President of the Bahraini Shura Council, Dr. Faisal Al Musawi and his accompanying delegation, the King affirmed his support to efforts that are directed towards promoting relations between the two countries.

"The economic ties, as well as cooperation between the private sectors in both Jordan and Bahrain, give strong momentum to the distinguished political ties between the two countries," His Majesty said during the meeting which was also attended by Senate President Zeid Rifai, Senator Aref Bataynah and the Bahraini ambassador to Jordan.

Al Musawi, who conveyed greetings of the King of Bahrain Hamad Ben Issa Al Khalifah to His Majesty King Abdullah, expressed happiness for visiting Jordan, where he looked into Jordan's parliamentary and democratic experience, as well as the political development march in the Kingdom.

"The distinguished and brotherly relations between the two countries' leaderships and peoples encourage us to take further steps that would develop bilateral ties in the economic, investment and trade fields for the service of the two peoples, he added.
