King and Queen wrap up visit to Sweden
Amman, 9 October 2003

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania on Thursday wrapped up a three day state visit to the Kingdom of Sweden by visiting Kerona city.

His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied By King Gustaf of Sweden, visited an iron mine in the city, which is one of the largest mines in the world.

The King was briefed on the mine's production capacity, where dates back to one hundred years ago. King Abdullah and King Gustaf toured the mine, which is located 300 meter under ground, and were briefed on the stages of iron extraction and transfer.

To be acquainted with the Swedish experience in the field of space, Their Majesties visited Swedish Institute for Space Researches, which is one of the specialized institutions concerning space researches.

Their Majesties, who were accompanied by King Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria, were briefed on the institute's contribution to university education.

Their Majesties visited also Kerona's church, constructed in 1907 and contains landscapes of Swedish artist Gustaf Vickman.

Mayor of Kerona held a reception on the honor of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania , which was attended by King Gustaf, Queen Sylvia and Crown Princess Victoria, in addition to numerous prominent personalities.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah , accompanied by Queen Sylvia, visited Sammy tribes location, and the ice hotel, which is held annually in winter.

Their Majesties were officially seen off in Kerona's airport by King Gustaf, Queen Sylvia and Crown Princess Victoria.
