King Leaves to Iran
Amman, 2 September 2003



His Majesty King Abdullah left Amman on Tuesday on his way to Tehran for a two-day official visit to the Iranian Islamic Republic during which he will hold talks with Iranian president Mohammad Khatimi and the supreme guide of the Islamic revolution Ali Khami'i.

During His Majesty's first visit to the republic of Iran, the king will discuss means of enhancing and activating bilateral relations in the various fields especially the economic and cultural fields.

The talks will also focus on enhancing trade exchange and motivating the role of private sector in establishing joint projects. The current situation in the region especially in Iraq and the Palestinian lands will also be discussed.

His Majesty is accompanied by Prime Minister Ali Abul Ragheb and senior officials. His Royal Highness Prince Hamzeh Ben Al Hussein, the Crown Prince was sworn in as regent.
