King Receives UK Minister
Amman, 15 July 2003



His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed that the sincere implementation of the roadmap will enhance the steps of reaching permanent peace between Palestinians and Israelis.

During talks held at Al Baraka Palace on Tuesday with Britain's Minister of State for the Middle East Baroness Symons, the King noted that Britain has a vital role in finding just solutions to the causes of Iraq and Palestine.

The discussions, which were attended by Minister of the Royal Court and Foreign Minister, centered on the developments of the Iraqi situation particularly after the formation of the Iraq Transitive council of government. The King also reaffirmed that running the Iraqi affairs by Iraqis will enhance the possibilities of reaching peace and stability. Adding that Jordan supports all the efforts aiming at restoring normal life and peace in Iraq.

For her part, Symons expressed Britain's appreciation for Jordan's role towards Iraqi and Palestinian issues and spreading peace in the Middle East, noting that Britain will go ahead in supporting the peace Plan of the Roadmap.
