King meets British politicians, intellectuals
London, 30 October 2013

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday met with several political, intellectual and academic British figures in London as part of efforts to shed light on Middle East issues on international decision-making podiums.

At the meeting, King Abdullah highlighted the Palestinian issue and ways to arrive at a just and viable solution to the conflict, as well as the repercussions of the Syrian crisis and ways to deal with the situation in a manner that ends the suffering of the Syrian people and leads to a comprehensive resolution of the crisis.

In reply to a question on the effect of the Arab Spring on Jordan, His Majesty noted that it presented an opportunity for Jordan to forge ahead with its reform drive, which he described as progressive, thoroughly studied and emanating from within the country.

The King highlighted the steps the Kingdom has taken to implement reform and development programmes in light of the political transformations in the region.
