King receives Abu Dhabi crown prince, UAE foreign minister
Amman, 18 April 2013

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday held talks with a high-ranking delegation from the UAE on bilateral relations, the latest developments in Syria and the Middle East peace push.

The delegation comprised the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, and UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, King Abdullah expressed pride in the historic and solid relations between the two countries.

The UAE officials conveyed greetings from UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to His Majesty, who in turn commended the UAE for its support for Jordan in various challenging circumstances, including the burdens borne by the Kingdom as a result of the influx of Syrian refugees, whose number has reached around half a million.

The UAE delegates expressed their appreciation for King Abdullah’s efforts to serve Arab causes and work to ensure regional security and stability, stressing the strong relations between the two countries.

Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh and His Majesty’s Office Director Imad Fakhoury attended the meeting.
