King flies to Bahrain, also to attend Kuwait conference
Amman, 29 January 2013
His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday flew to Bahrain on a working visit for talks with Bahrain's monarch Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah on ways of cementing bilateral ties.
The two leaders will also discuss regional developments, namely the escalating violence in Syria, in addition to other issues of common interest.
On Wednesday, King Abdullah will travel on to Kuwait to take part in an international donors conference to support the Syrian people at the invitation of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
Sixty countries and 20 international relief organisations and refugee agencies will be represented at the conference that will raise funds for internally displaced Syrians and over one million refugees living in neighbouring countries.
Jordan is the biggest host of Syrian refugees, as over 300,000 Syrians have fled to the Kingdom.
His Royal Highness Prince Feisal ibn Al Hussein was sworn in before the cabinet as Regent.
