His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with visiting former Archbishop of Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, as part of continuous efforts to promote inter-faith dialogue and Muslim-Christian bonds.
King Abdullah and Cardinal McCarrick emphasised the need to spread the values of tolerance as the basis for dialogue and understanding among followers of different faiths, referring to the Amman Message that nurtures those noble values.
Cardinal McCarrick commended Jordan's efforts to achieve regional peace and stability, particularly at this stage when the Middle East is witnessing rapid change, recognising His Majesty's initiatives to extend bridges among peoples and cultures.
