His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with Communist Party of China politburo member Wang Gang and underlined Jordan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with China.

King Abdullah called for enhancing Chinese participation in the Kingdom’s vital development plans, particularly in the fields of transport, water and energy.

Gang, who is also vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, highlighted his country’s interest in improving economic cooperation with Jordan and contributing to infrastructure projects.

The Chinese official said he would urge authorities in his country and private sector leaders to consider taking part in the Kingdom’s projects.

The trade volume between Jordan and China has increased tenfold between 2001 and 2010.
