Low-Income Housing

In November 2005, His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Al Hussein launched the "King Abdullah II underprivileged families’ housing project" in Mafraq. The King announced that thousands of poor families in various governorates of the Kingdom would eventually be able to move to housing suitable for a decent life.

His Majesty called for a special committee, chaired by the head of the Royal Court, and the concerned ministries to lay the suitable foundations to implement the royal initiative.

The first phase of the project, which is overseen by the Royal Hashemite Court, included the construction of 600 houses for the poor in ten governorates, while the second phase which King Abdullah II ordered includes the construction of 1,400 housing units in various governorates of the Kingdom, of which a great part has been completed and assigned.
