Information and Communications Technology

Helping Jordan cross the digital divide and encouraging other developing nations to do so has been one of His Majesty King Abdullah II's chief priorities, pursued through a suite of connected ICT initiatives.

First, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) was established in 1999 to set policy and a strategy for the sector's development, along with the Information Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j). Today, Jordanian business leaders point to the King's vision as the driving force in Jordan's ICT sector. His institutional reforms and constant encouragement have led to unprecedented growth in what was previously an almost overlooked sector.
